Brick Kiln Pottery
I am a physiotherapist by day, and making things with clay is my hobby. I am interested in shape and texture, colour and animals. All of my mugs are as individual as everyone’s hands, some of us like to cup our hands around our mugs and some of us prefer to use the handle. Often I let the clay dictate what shape I'm making, sometimes with interesting and unusual results!
Caring for your Hand made Ceramics
All ceramics are handmade in my pottery studio in Norfolk, UK. The pottery is made in small batches of around 10 pieces and is carefully formed over a two day period. After the pieces have dried for a few weeks, they are then fired to 1000 degrees Celsius in my kiln. I then paint them with glazes to create beautiful glaze patterns. The ceramics are then fired again to 1235 degrees Celsius.
All the items can go in the dishwasher and microwave (for a maximum 3 mins), but they will last longer if they are carefully handwashed and not left to sit in water.
